This policy explains what information Menlo Catering Events LLC collects through menlocatering.com, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We keep this deliberately plain, because you should not need a lawyer to understand what happens to your details.

Who we are

Menlo Catering Events LLC ("Menlo Catering", "we", "us") is a catering company serving the San Francisco Bay Area. We operate the website at menlocatering.com. If you have questions about this policy or about your information, contact us:

Information you give us

When you submit a quote request or contact form, we collect the details you enter. Depending on the form, that may include:

• Your name
• Your email address and phone number
• Your event date, guest count, and event type
• Your event location or city
• Any notes you choose to add, such as menu preferences or dietary requirements

You may also give us information by calling, texting, or emailing us directly. We only ask for what we need in order to prepare a quote and plan an event.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, ours records some technical information when you visit. This may include your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, how long you stay, and the website or advertisement that brought you here. We use this to understand which pages are useful and which advertising is working.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and comparable technologies for analytics and advertising measurement. These are provided by third parties:

• Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics — to measure how visitors use the site.
• Meta (Facebook and Instagram) advertising tools — to measure the performance of our advertising and, where enabled, show relevant ads.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Google offers an opt-out browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, and you can adjust advertising preferences in your Meta account settings. Blocking cookies will not stop you from using this website or from contacting us.

How we use your information

• To plan, staff, and deliver catering for your event
• To communicate with you about your event, including menus, timing, and logistics
• To keep records for accounting, tax, and insurance purposes
• To understand how our website and advertising perform, and improve both

We do not use automated decision-making or profiling to decide whether to serve you.

Marketing

If you enquire with us, we may follow up about your event. We may occasionally send information about seasonal menus or availability. You can ask us to stop at any time by replying to any message or emailing nico@menlocatering.com, and we will stop.

Who we share information with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only where necessary:

• Service providers who help us run the business — our website host and form processor (Netlify), analytics and advertising providers (Google, Meta), and email and scheduling tools. These providers may only use the information to provide their service to us.
• Event partners where it is needed to deliver your event, such as staffing, rentals, or a venue you have asked us to coordinate with. We share only what is necessary, such as headcount and timing.
• Professional advisers and authorities where we are required to by law, or to establish or defend legal claims.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry details for as long as needed to respond and to follow up on the event, and typically for up to three years afterwards so that we can help with repeat events. Records connected with a booked event, including invoices, are kept for at least seven years to meet tax and insurance obligations. You may ask us to delete your information sooner, and we will do so where we are not required to keep it.

How we protect it

Your form submissions are transmitted over an encrypted connection and stored with our hosting provider under password-protected accounts. We limit access to the people who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you give us.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us at any time to:

• Tell you what information we hold about you
• Correct anything that is wrong
• Delete your information, where we are not legally required to keep it
• Stop sending you marketing messages

Email nico@menlocatering.com and we will respond within 30 days. We will not charge you or treat you differently for making a request.

California residents

This section is provided under the California Online Privacy Protection Act. We disclose the categories of information we collect and how we use them above. California residents may request details of any personal information disclosed to third parties for their direct marketing purposes; as stated above, we do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not disclose it for third-party direct marketing.

Do Not Track: some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. There is no common industry standard for responding to these signals, so our website does not currently respond to them. You can still control tracking through your browser and through the opt-out links above.

Children

Our website is intended for adults arranging catering. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.

Our site links to other places, including our Instagram and Facebook pages. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other websites, and we encourage you to read their policies.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our business or the law changes. The date at the top shows when it was last revised. If we make a significant change, we will make that clear on this page.
